Let's look at a real world example.
Joe owns a law firm with 15 employees. In a single 8 hour day, Joe opened 5 help desk tickets. Those 5 tickets were able to be resolved quickly and Joe will only be billed for one and a half hours that day. $150 divided by 8 hours is $18.75 /hr. Joe just paid $18.75 /hr for full time technical support.
Let's say Joe opens 5 help desk tickets a day for 5 days. At the end of a week, Joe has used 8 hours of technical support. Joe will be billed for an 8 hour block for $640. $640 divided by 40 hours is $16 /hr. Joe received full time technical support for a full week for only $16 /hr.
In the final example, Joe uses 10 hours of technical support each week for an entire month. Joe will be billed for a single 40 hour block for $2400. $2400 divided by 160 hours is $15 /hr. Joe got an entire month of full time technical support for only $15 /hr.
